Three Starfish

from US$32.00

Starfish are vicious predators, though we seldom think of them in this way. They’re the main danger lurking in many tide pools. When I was a girl I would turn them over to see their myriads of tiny tube feet waving about, before placing them back on their rocks.

All starfish are pretty cool looking with their radial symmetry and their spiky skin, but some are extra satisfying. The three I drew here are the necklace starfish (Fromia monilis), icon starfish (Iconaster longimanus), and the biscuit starfish (Anchitosia queenslandensis).

The piece is drawn with mechanical pencils on smooth Bristol paper.

Printed on Breathing Color Optica One paper
Matte finish, 300 gsm, bright white
Sizes - 8x10 - 12x16
Hand cut edges
No border
